Far is considered safer than near.

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out if near infrared saunas are safe and effective. I see the link you included is for a far infrared sauna.
Do you have an opinion about the difference between NIR versus FIR lights?
    Thank you,

Or, you could just live in Texas. The entire state is a sauna for nearly half of the year, and hot and spicy food begins with breakfast here.

The main drawback is our politicians, but hey, nobody said this longevity thing was easy.

For some reason your format for these health tips doesn’t work any more on my computer–the print and pictures come up way too big. Has your format changed?

Hi Barbara – Our format changed somewhat several months ago. If it’s a newer problem, please check your settings and make certain that you’re using the most up to date version of your web browser. I’ll run this by our administrator as well.

I know of a place in which you can get both of these: King Spa & Sauna. Not only can you experience several types of sauna rooms, but they have a food court that serves spicy rice cake, as well as, a couple of other spicy dishes. They are located in nearby Niles.

I am wondering if the red light therapy bed at my local tanning salon is healthy too?

Before using red light therapy beds, it would be important to ensure that the light the emit is not part of the UV spectrum that can cause skin cancer. UV light of certain types is what is often used in tanning and what we shield ourselves from when in the dun for long periods of time. There is some indication that red light can be helpful, but just be sure first that it’s not combined with regular tanning light.
