Janet Chandler
Clinical Psychology
Dr. Chandler is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked as a clinician for over 25 years. She has worked with individuals, children, couples, families, and groups addressing a wide variety of mental health challenges including, trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, substance abuse, grief and loss, relationship difficulties, sexual concerns and other difficult life transitions. Dr. Chandler received her Ph.D. from Northwestern University, trained at N.U.’s Family Institute and is utilizes Gottman’s couples therapy when indicated in treating couples. She has served on the faculty of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
Jennifer Davis
Licensed Professional Counselor
Jennifer has a lifelong passion for how people learn and grow over time. She is interested in how our stories about ourselves keep us stuck or help us move forward and flourish through our lives. Jennifer is a licensed professional counselor who received her degree from Loyola University Chicago’s Institute of Pastoral Studies in 2011. As an integrative psychotherapist, she draws from a range of techniques, using cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, and humanistic models. She enjoys exploring the interplay of body, mind, and spirit and how these different facets, as well as our many cultural roles, help to sustain our True Self.
David Edelberg
Internal Medicine
Dr. Edelberg, board certified in Internal Medicine in 1974, began incorporating alternative therapies into his practice during the 1980’s. Since founding the parent company of WholeHealth Chicago in 1993, he has become nationally recognized as one of the pioneers of integrative medicine, the new medical specialty combining conventional medicine with alternative therapies. Author of hundreds of articles and author or editor of five books of integrative medicine; His most recent books have been the best selling “Healing Fibromyalgia” and “The Triple Whammy Cure”.
Marla Feingold
Clinical Nutrition & Exercise Physiology
Marla is an experienced Board Certified Clinical Nutritionist (CCN), Board Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS), and a Licensed Dietician Nutritionist (LDN) in the state or Illinois. She holds a M.S in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport, and a B.S in Exercise Physiology/Kinesiology with a cognate in nutrition from Michigan State University. Marla specializes in helping clients make diet and lifestyle changes to improve health and vitality, inflammatory conditions, hypertension, diabetes, digestive conditions, fibromyalgia, food sensitivities, metabolic syndrome, and fatigue. She studied and worked at the Wingate Institute in Israel, one of the world’s leading facilities for exercise science and research.
Alaina Gemelas
Functional Medicine
Dr. Alaina Gemelas is a chiropractic physician specializing in functional medicine. She takes a whole-body approach to uncover the root causes contributing to what ails you. Dr. Gemelas’ interest in systems-based medicine began early in her medical career when conventional approaches failed to address the symptoms she was experiencing. But working with a functional medicine-trained physician she experienced a radical shift in her health, and this fueled her passion for helping others find transformative solutions.
Suzi Katlin
Acupuncture, Chinese Herbal Medicine
Suzi Katlin graduated from Northwestern University in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Since then, she’s helped bring thousands of new lives into the world, working for 28 years at Northwestern Memorial Hospital as a prenatal, post-partum, and labor and delivery nurse.
Cindy Kudelka
Acupuncture
Cindy Kudelka is trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture, Chinese herbology, cupping, moxabustion, and gua sha). She has trained extensively with Dr. Richard Tan in I Ching and Balance Method acupuncture, which consist of needling acupuncture points away (distant) from the injured or painful area, leaving sensitive regions needle free and providing immediate pain relief.
Sujatha Mannal
Homeopathy
Sujatha holds a Bachelor in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree from Calcutta, India, from the oldest existing homeopathic college in the world. This was a 5 year integrated medical program with 2-year residency, teaching homeopathy with allied medical sciences like Anatomy, Physiology, etc. including nutrition. She has continued her homeopathic training with renowned teachers from the US, Europe and India. She has over 25 years of experience and has been living in the Chicagoland area since 1991. She also went back to India to study Ayurveda extensively so that she could incorporate its principles and practice to complement her therapy at WholeHealth Chicago.
Cliff Maurer
Chiropractic Medicine
Having worked at WholeHealth Chicago for over ten years, Dr. Maurer completed his chiropractic internship in a number of Chicago area clinics and graduated from the National University of Health Sciences. He is board certified to practice chiropractic medicine and physiotherapy by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners. Dr. Maurer utilizes manual techniques when caring for patients as well as alternative therapies to address health complaints using lifestyle changes, nutritional counseling and natural medicine. He has experience treating a variety of musculoskeletal conditions and general health problems with chiropractic manipulation, physical and functional rehabilitation, Kinesiotape technique, a range of soft tissue rehabilitation techniques, and functional medicine.
Katie Oberlin
Healing Touch; Shamanic Healing
Katie is a Healing Touch Certified Practitioner and Shamanic Healing Practitioner. She is fascinated with the way these two energy modalities dovetail beautifully with one another. Katie brings a solid foundation in holistic counseling and scientific research to her practice. In addition to offering Healing Touch and Shamanic Healing for adults, she works with children and animals, and provides energetic clearing for homes and offices. She is an instructor and qualified mentor for the Healing Touch Program.
Wendy Ploegstra
Nurse Practitioner
Wendy A. Ploegstra, APN (advanced practice nursing), FNP (family nurse practitioner)-BC, Dip ABLM (American Board of Lifestyle Medicine), Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner. Board-certified in family practice in 2008 and certified as a Lifestyle Medicine Practitioner in 2018, Wendy A. Ploegstra has incorporated alternative therapies into her practice for the last five years. She was recognized as a top nurse in the 2019 Worldwide Leaders in Healthcare publication by the International Nurses Association.
Christine Savas
Licensed Professional Counselor
Christine Savas is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her M.Ed. in Community Counseling from DePaul University and B.S. in Psychology and Human Relations from the University of Iowa. Prior to graduation, Christine interned working throughout the city of Chicago gaining experience in both private practice and community agencies.
Caley Scott
Naturopathic Medicine
Caley Scott is a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine. She earned her degree from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL. Dr. Scott developed a passion for naturopathic medicine while working as a medical assistant at an integrative clinic in the Chicago suburbs after completing her bachelor’s degree in human nutrition from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Neeti Sharma
Internal Medicine
Neeti Sharma, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician specializing in integrative and functional medicine. Over the course of her career she has worked at multiple hospitals and clinics and has been a part of internal medicine residency faculty, helping shape future physicians. She received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from University of Washington, Seattle, her MD from Windsor University School of Medicine, and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at West Suburban Medical Center.
Mari Stecker
Acupuncture
Along with Dr. Edelberg, Mari Stecker is one of the three original co-founders of American WholeHealth which became WholeHealth Chicago in 1999. After graduating from the Midwest College for the Study of Oriental Medicine, she was one of the first recipients of licensure in acupuncture in the State of Illinois. Mari received National Board Certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as well as hospital training in China. She has completed postgraduate studies in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine.
Olivia Wagner
Nutrition
Olivia Wagner is a functionally-trained and integrative Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Certified Health Coach, and Personal Trainer. Olivia earned her degree in Nutrition and Dietetics from Miami University and her Masters in Nutrition and Physical Performance from Saint Louis University. She is board certified in functional nutrition therapies through the Integrative and Functional Nutrition Academy.
Elizabeth Yamat
Case Manager / IV Therapies
Lizz is a certified medical assistant, case manager, and phlebotomist and has worked at WholeHealth Chicago for eight years. She received her training through Olympia College, and continually attends seminars and workshops to keep her skills up to date. She integrates Pilates, meditation, and cardio activity into her daily routine.
Renee Zambo
Yoga Therapist
Renee Zambo is a 1000hr Yoga Therapist who began practicing yoga as a way to reduce stress in high school. She began teaching in 2010 and fell in love with meeting people from various backgrounds and with different health challenges. Her desire was always to make yoga accessible and beneficial to everyone in their own way, which sparked her training with Integrative Yoga Therapy in 2013.
