Family Nurse Practitioner
Alexis Larson has been working in Radiation Oncology at Northwestern Memorial Hospital since October, 2015. She graduated from Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, IL., in 2015 with her BSN and began her oncology journey shortly after. She became Oncology Certified Nurse in 2020 and received a daisy award in 2021. Alexis graduated with her master’s degree in Advanced Practice Nursing from North Park University in 2021. She was awarded the Joan E. Zetterlund Advanced Practice Nursing Award in Graduate Nursing and became a certified Family Nurse Practitioner in August, 2021.
She then transitioned to an APN in radiation oncology and now cares for patients who have received radiation to different disease sites ranging from brain, lung, head and neck and prostate cancer. Alexis also works part time as a family APN. She began working at Roscoe Village Family Medicine in Chicago in 2021 up until recently when she decided to explore working in the functional medicine environment. Alexis is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and sits on the board of the Chicago Chapter of Oncology Nursing Society as Director at Large of Programs.
She has given many lectures, including Basics of Radiation Oncology, Advances in Prostate Cancer Treatment Modalities, Late Effects of Radiation Therapy and more. Alexis’ true passion lies within the functional medicine realm and her ultimate goal is the utilize her knowledge in functional medicine and as a tool to enhance and aid oncology patient’s experience in medicine by supporting the body before, during and post-treatment.
