There has been a lot of discussion lately about how much vitamin D we should be taking. I’ve read opinions about how we should have anywhere from 30ng/ml to 90ng/ml. Initially it was “the more the better” but on the westinprice.org website, they make a pretty good case for more is not always better. I recently read about a study where the authors found a “plateau” effect” around 30ng/ml where Vitamin D at this level had a protective effect against upper respiratory infections and where there was “minimal additional protective effect” above this level. My opinion is do not overdo Vitamin D. I use sunlight and fermented cod liver oil for my sources of Vitamin D.
