Sujatha Mannal :: Homeopathy

Sujatha holds a Bachelor in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) degree from Calcutta, India, from the oldest existing homeopathic college in the world. This was a 5 year integrated medical program with 2-year residency, teaching homeopathy with allied medical sciences like Anatomy, Physiology, etc. including nutrition. She has continued her homeopathic training with renowned teachers from the US, Europe and India. She has over 25 years of experience and has been living in the Chicagoland area since 1991. She also went back to India to study Ayurveda extensively so that she could incorporate its principles and practice to complement her therapy at WholeHealth Chicago.

Homeopathy is a gentle non-invasive form of treatment safe for all ages, from the intra-uterine to the very old. Naturally occurring substances like plants, minerals, salts etc are dissolved according to a scientific formula to reduce the actual physical content of the substance to make a homeopathic remedy. These are administered as little white sugar pills, that easily dissolve in the mouth. It is also very useful for your pets’ health needs!  In Homeopathy we try not to treat the “disease symptoms” alone, we treat the “person” with the disease symptom so that the remedy selection becomes an individualized treatment specific to the person. So even though someone might have the diagnosis of Acne, or Asthma, the remedy selection would take the person’s likes and dislikes of food, sleep pattern, even temperament into account, along with the disease symptoms. She utilises dietary modifications and stress management as part of the treatment plan. In general, homeopathy treats a wide array of acute and chronic diseases.

Colds and Flu, Allergy, Asthma, Sinus problems. Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Skin problems; acne, rosaecea, eczema, psoriasis. Women’s ailment, Arthritis, and Childhood ailments

The homeopathic evaluation is done through an extensive interview process in the first visit. In-depth questions are asked to get a complete physical, mental and emotional picture of the person. The purpose of this interview is to ascertain the origin of the health imbalance whereby disease set in. Homeopathy was one of the earliest systems to take into consideration the Mind-Body-Spirit connection of health and disease. Homeopathic remedies are then recommended, often with dietary and nutritional counseling to assist the healing process inherent in everyone to bring back health and a sense of well-being. Re-evaluations are done according to the disease being treated and are 2-5 weeks apart.

“I strongly feel that health is the natural condition for all of us. Disease, or external influences, build layers over our natural well-being. Homeopathic medicines peel off these negative layers to restore the normal balance and harmony of our vital energy, enabling us to lead full and happy lives. I have grown up with homeopathy and truly believe it is one of the best preventive and healing methods available to us.”
