Make your daily breakfast a bowl of oatmeal and one red grapefruit.<\/p>\n<p>You\u2019re likely already aware of oatmeal\u2019s cholesterol-lowering effects, but those of red grapefruit are the result of newly published study.<\/p>\n<p>Researchers at Hebrew University in Jerusalem uncovered astonishing reductions of 15% in total cholesterol and 20% in LDL (\u201cbad\u201d) cholesterol levels among high-cholesterol patients after just thirty days of red grapefruit eating, compared to a non-grapefruit eating control group. Light-colored grapefruit worked, but nowhere near as dramatically as the red.<\/p>\n<p>Just about everybody on the planet knows that cholesterol sludge blocks arteries.
