Taking some time for yourself may seem counterintuitive, but it\u2019s<br \/>\nprecisely what you need.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nHere\u2019s another prescription for keeping healthy during the holidays:<br \/>\nEstablish 20 minutes every day that\u2019s all yours, with every communications<br \/>\ndevice turned off. Use this time to release stress. One of the easiest and<br \/>\nmost effective ways to use your break is to walk briskly or even vigorously<br \/>\nfor 20 minutes outside in the fresh air. You can do this anywhere.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nAs you walk\u2026<br \/>\n\u2022    Empty your mind, see the beauty in the world around you, and let<br \/>\nthoughts drift in and out.<br \/>\n\u2022    Breathe deeply.<br \/>\n\u2022    Release the relentless tangle of stressful thoughts.<br \/>\n\u2022    Infect every person you encounter with a smile and see how many smile<br \/>\nback.<br \/>\n<br \/>\nBrisk walking raises your body\u2019s serotonin levels, arming you against the<br \/>\nreal damage caused by chronic stress.
