How does Healing Touch work?
When you are well, energy flows freely and smoothly and you are able to self heal by responding effectively to internal fluctuations. When you are injured, ill, or under stress, the flow of energy becomes blocked or out of balance. Your Healing Touch practitioner utilizes the hands above or in light contact with your body, clearing congested energy and balancing energetic flow to restore and maintain your natural healing potential. This promotes physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. Healing Touch complements conventional medical and psychological care for all ages and stages of life.
Who founded the Healing Touch Program?
Healing Touch is based on evidence-based techniques and a medical model for health care which was developed by a nurse-healer named Janet Mentgen. It offers a heart-centered, caring approach in which the client and practitioner work as partners in the healing process. Practitioner certification requires a rigorous training program, as well as a commitment to practicing under a Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Healing Touch is endorsed by the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) and accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
