Karen Fayden :: Clinical Social Work

Karen is a licensed clinical social worker who has a unique holistic approach to psychotherapy. Using a combination of traditional therapeutic techniques, cognitive behavioral therapy, and energy psychology (such as Emotional Freedom Technique and mindfulness), she assists in the exploration and resolution of obstacles blocking your healing and growth. Her style is empathic, warm, supportive, and client-centered.  Using an integrative and collaborative, yet practical, approach, Karen provides help to adults experiencing a range of life challenges, including self-esteem, depression, anxiety, stress, life transition, relationships, grief/loss, and trauma.

Karen received a Master’s in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago and has clinical experience in both private and group therapy practice. She is also an ACEP EFT Certified Practitioner Candidate.

Very definitely consider an appointment with Karen if you’ve been under stress, “stuck” in your negative emotions, or feel you’re not progressing in your life. You might envision your current situation as sitting in front of a bookshelf with titles like “Me and My Career,” “Me and My Relationships,” and “What I Think About My Childhood.” All you can do is endlessly rearrange the books. With Karen, you can get rid of some of your old titles and insert a few new ones.

A collaborative therapeutic experience rooted in both traditional and more alternative approaches, including:

  • Learning effective techniques to reduce anxiety and stress.
  • Developing insights into your unhealthful behavior patterns.
  • An integrative team approach with practitioners at WholeHealth Chicago.

“I believe following the client’s innate wisdom and insight and creating a safe therapeutic relationship are essential elements in the journey toward healing, empowerment, and expansion.”
