Mindful Practices For Surviving SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder) or How To Cope With The Winter Blues-January 2015

Mindful Practices for Surviving SAD is an eight week program that explores the self and how it relates to the winter season. The natural world rests during winter while it rejuvenates for spring, the days darker and shorter to conserve the energy needed for the rest of the year. But while these are necessary attributes of the winter season, they cause side effects in many people.

Each session will build on the previous one, with the intention of reconnecting to ourselves and this season of life. Discover the purpose of winter in your own life, and learn how you can thrive during it. We’ll be teaching breathing techniques, affirmations, guided meditations, and gentle yoga movements to help offset the side effects of these dark winter days. You’ll even learn to find comfort throughout the stillness of the season.

Renee Zambo is a 450hr Yoga Instructor through Integrative Yoga Therapy. Renee began practicing yoga from a book when she was sixteen as a way to reduce stress, connect to her body and center her mind in high school.  The physical and mental benefits continued to prove themselves for the six years preceding her first Teacher Training Program in 2010. Renee continues to study Yoga Therapy and is very interested in helping others find how they can connect and heal their body, mind and spirit.
